Public register of European occupational pension schemes

The European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) established a public register of European occupational pension schemes which is published on the EIOPA website:

This register includes information about Irish pension schemes with 12 or more active and deferred members.

Under European law, the Pensions Authority, like all other European pension regulators, is required to provide EIOPA with information which is necessary for EIOPA to carry out its duties which include the establishment of the above public register of institutions for occupational retirement provision.

The public register contains the following information on Irish occupational pension schemes (excluding schemes with less than 12 active and deferred members):

• Scheme name,
• PB number,
• Scheme registration date, and
• Cross-border status.
