Contributions

While some (non-contributory) schemes do not require members to pay contributions, members are often asked to contribute towards the cost of a pension.

Contributions tend to be set as a percentage of salary or pensionable salary.

If you join a pension scheme, you will be required to pay the level of contribution set out in the scheme’s rules. Employers have obligations to remit contributions within 21 days of the end of the month to which they relate.
