Advertisement for Temporary Opportunity at Assistant Principal Officer level in the PRSA Unit of the Pensions Board

Monday 12 December 2005: Reporting to the Head of the PRSA Unit, the successful candidate will support him in all aspects of the Unit’s business relating to the approval of PRSA products and the ongoing monitoring and supervision of providers of their PRSA activities. This is a senior managerial post within the Board and the Assistant Head will play a key role in the meeting of the Board’s strategic objectives for PRSAs to the general public. The Assistant Head will deputise for the Head of Unit and will represent the Board as appropriate.

This temporary appointment from 1 January to 1 September 2006 is to cover a maternity leave absence.

This senior executive post requires an individual with strong analytical and communication skills both written and verbal. An appropriate third level qualification perhaps in economics, finance, public administration or law would be desireable. S/he will be able to demonstrate a track record of experience carrying out research based analysis and assessment in a relevant work environment, the preparation of supervision based reports and the ability to motivate a small team. Pensions experience and a familiarity with the public sector would be useful but not essential.
