Amendment to various regulations under the Pensions Act, 1990

Thursday 2 December 2021: The Pensions Authority has published an information note on the regulations listed below. These regulations were signed by the Minister for Social Protection on 25 November 2021.

The regulations:

  • make amendments to existing regulations under the Pensions Act 1990, as amended (the Act), in relation to disclosure, scheme registration, trustee investment qualifications, funding standard, cross-border requirements, and bulk transfers; and
  • revoke and replace the existing investment-related regulations under the Act.

An information note is available under the Related File(s) section of this page. The purpose of the information note is to give an overview of the main changes introduced. Some of these changes are consequential to the transposition of Directive (EU) 2016/2341 (the IORP II Directive).
