Pensions Authority establishes new Regulatory Intelligence Unit

19 August 2016: The Pensions Authority has established a new Regulatory Intelligence function headed up by Tom Dunphy. Regulatory Intelligence will support the Authority’s compliance activity by focusing on the accuracy and integrity of data being submitted by regulated entities.

Regulatory Intelligence will be responsible for:

  • analysis of regulatory data submitted to the Authority
  • raising data reporting compliance standards and reporting integrity
  • collating available data and information and supporting the wider compliance effort.

The timely submission of accurate Annual Scheme Information returns is a priority for the Authority and Registered Administrators must ensure that all schemes for which they are responsible are fully compliant.

Andrew Nugent has been appointed as Head of the Compliance unit, who will continue with their varied programme of proactive compliance activity including on-site inspections of administrators, reviews of PRSA compliance, desk compliance audits, and checking of employer pension access provision.
